The place has both beer and wines but their focus is CIDER. V i tried 2 different and they know their thing.- Real cider! There is only one dessert, but it is the dessert dessert. There is no need for more choices
The chef is also the owner and a ball of fire and kindness and quick in the jaw and cool and very nice
The venue is tea the most charming but it fulfills its function as awesome neighborhood hanger.
It's affordable and I hope MORE people can find their way here and understand what REAL GOOD FOOD with good ingredients means

Downstairs in an odd room you will find this spartan decorated restaurant, at first you are greeted by a large counter with lots of different types of cider. This is apparently the hallmark of the restaurant. Had they not been because I read the Thats up reviews before, I would not have understood that cider was the thing here by just going here.
The tables with odd placement feel intimate and fun you really use every nook and cranny of the room, we were seated at a table for two at the back of the room, I quickly checked out a bar like part in an old shop window. Where you could sit and look out. Immediately asked if we could change seats but not it was apparently fully booked. The bar area had room for four so thought it might be booked for four but after about 45 minutes they fell in a couple who had to sit there and the other two seats were "free" our whole dinner. It chafes a little in the eye.
The menu is small about 10 small / medium dishes, then a dessert. We (2p) ordered 5-6 dishes and on this was quite okay measured. I really missed a drinks menu, this to be able to read what different types of cider there were and other drinks. However, I said just as it was that I do not know anything about cider but would like to try, got to try a couple of different but hard to say. Like sharply that the waitress as it was that some cider tastes stale, yes some cider really tastes stale. Do you want to drink stale with your food? They even had a few extra dishes on top of the menu that never really arrived. Without hearing the order from the table next door that there were apparently two desserts but only one was on the menu, how do you know that there is another one if no one tells you?! A classic chalkboard would have sat nicely for extra dishes.
The food itself was good, but not falling off the chair good. However, it is cooked with love and a lot of fat, who doesn't like that. Clearly food that is not available at other restaurants and they really make genuine. There was no shortage of sauce either and we also got rice that was included. My favorite was the Jerusalem artichokes with crème fraiche and rum. Thin beef was also good. May think it gets a bit crazy when the dumplings are so oily that you are recommended by the staff to divide them and pour in the sauce and not dip. However, worth the trouble.
Tips to book a table, saw several who came in and unfortunately had to go. Which does not make them the obvious neighborhood restaurant.
