Messy, loud, fun, smoky, quality, good, spirits, wreckage, best in town, etc., only drawback is that it is hard to get a table. Anyone who likes food and a different experience should eat here. Leave your mother-in-law at home.
Many positive impressions from Punk Royale yesterday. Single negative. Will see if I can remember all the fun that happened during the evening.
The absolute best thing about the restaurant is the concept. It is extremely different, in a cruel fun. It is extremely small. Not sure of the number of seats, but would guess at around 20. When we played music on the probably highest volume I heard in a restaurant, at least clearly high volume. When we were done, the volume was not far from the nightclub level. It played a crazy mix of music, from the Vengaboys-Boom Boom Boom and Roxette-How Do You Do, to insane 눉very hot room. At some point every half hour fills the room with smoke from a smoke machine à la disco in junior high. We drank, not a drop of alcohol that evening, but it was impossible not to get carried away with the atmosphere. The stojas, is toasted and is generally lively, more and more the longer the evening goes.
Food wise, so they ask if we are ready to get started, and then we go. No menu, no information, nothing besides "here we go". We have no idea what to expect, even how many dishes. The first thing that comes up is an egg (the content is not usually egg though) that is in any form of deep fried onions. It is placed on the table next to us without a Word. "Since it takes a few minutes, then a right that is presented and which we eat. The egg remains more a right. Then comes a small ministekpanna. And a minute later, Cook and takes the egg and pour in the Pan, which apparently is so hot that he can fry an omelet to us. Which, incidentally, was cruelly good.
The dishes come with an awesome fast pace at the beginning. Few times in half, it will be a little wait. In total, I would guess that we eat around 12 dishes + 3 desserts. The positive is that it is only a right I don't at all think about, and it's my own fault because I do not like the main ingredient. Otherwise, it is just a single dish that I have a little difficulty. Otherwise the remaining dishes really good. Even two of the desserts are really good, as are big words from me that generally doesn't like desserts. The only negative with the food, which, indeed, was the evening's biggest minus was that no right was so where you fall off your Chair in shock because it's so good. A few were nearby, but otherwise was "just" good or very good.
Service wise, it was okay. Our "main"-the waitress was a bit severe/ocharmig, but she got better during the evening. The chefs and the others were nice, but nothing special.
But as I said, the very best of the restaurant's concept. Even food wise they kidding. At a proper chef came in with two large spoons with fresh truffle grated on something, which turned out to be freshly boiled lobster, we learned after the chef commanded us to gape and fed us ... A tuna (I have for me), which was cruelly good, came in with a cigarette (as they must have tampered with) next to which they lighted on and turned off on top. We got to eat björntartar of platelets with fresh shaved truffles and when they served foie gras stood next to a rubber duck on the plate. In the middle of dinner, we get a plastic glove. No info. A little later, a deep fried fish (anglerfish? Do not remember) with various sauces on which we shall give in the US advance.
On the table was minikaplaklossar, which I spent a lot of time to build different kinds of awesome. ;)
The day's biggest disappointment was (except that we did not get any tattoo, which most other companies seem to have gotten;)) clearly that wow!! feeling food wise never appeared. But the level in General and the concept itself makes that I can not put anything other than the highest rating, even though it is a bit loose.
