Review of Villa Godthem – by Anna G.
I have just tried the afternoon tea and it was delicious. The surroundings are also really pleasant and the location allows for the perfect afternoon programme: long walk around Djurgården with a spectacular finish: champagne, sandwiches, scones and desserts. Each of them prepared with originality and attention to detail. Why only 4 stars? Some details. One of the staff was really odd. He kept on interrupting us while we were talking to ask us how we were doing. When we didn’t answer him straight away and he was visibly upset! Also very odd: the tea pot looked like it came straight out of a school canteen, and they never offered to refill with hot water. The odd waiter also practically shoved a bottle of sparkling water onto us, charging SEK80 for it. I mean, most places offer this for free nowadays… just seems a bit too greedy, when we already pay 550 or so per person for the champagne menu. Couldn’t the water be included?
