Right next to the foyer in the Zita Folkets Bio cinema on Birger Jarlsgatan you'll find Bongo Kök & Bar, a perfect spot to stop by for something to eat and a glass of wine in lively surroundings. Culinary influences come from South America and Europe and there are weekly live music performances, DJs and stand-up comedy.
Since 2017, Bongo Kök & Bar has been tucked away inside Zita's ticket office. An intimate little restaurant with dark walls, patterned carpets and modern tables and chairs. Stop by for both lunch and dinner, or to have a drink at the long bar counter in the middle of the premises - regardless of whether you are going to the cinema or not. The evening menu consists of both small and large plates with inspiration from South America and Europe, everything from nachos to moules frites. At lunchtime, you can choose from home-cooked food and vegetarian options.
In the evening, the premises quickly fills up with groups of friends and chatter. Both dinner guests and post-work drinkers come here to socialise. They're also passionate about music, as the portraits of famous musicians that adorn the walls attest to. At weekends, various DJs and live artists are invited to take the stage, and during the week you can also check out visiting stand-up comedians.
During the summer months, Bongo Kök & Bar open up their outdoor terrace on Birger Jarlsgatan.
