We ate their 20 course tasting menu which was very exciting and inventive! Many dishes shocked the taste buds - not least the pine ice cream with a taste of Asian stew. Extremely knowledgeable, nice and ambitious staff as well as cozy local and awesome good wines. All in all 5/5 except the food that was 4/5, an experience to remember!

What do you give to a person for Christmas who doesn't want anything? Food! And not just any food, a damn nice restaurant experience.
In the weeks before Christmas, Etoile offered a Winter Menue, which was a smaller version of their regular tasting menu and was served in their so-called test kitchen, a bar counter with a view of the kitchen. So we didn't sit in the usual dining room. The menu consisted of 13 dishes, but then they threw in a few extras, so we probably ended up with just under 20 dishes including dessert and coffee. The regular menu costs 2400 SEK, while this was 1800 SEK.
Me and my company were very impressed with the food. At many fine dining restaurants, you often see the same flavor components, and that's not really that strange - why mess with a winning concept? We also saw that here at Etoile, but also lots of new, unique flavors that made the taste buds jump. For example, we ate a whitefish in saffron butter sauce that was absolutely incredible and truly unique.
This evening we chose the wine package which was also 800 SEK instead of the usual 1600 SEK; Of course, there was less drink then. Unfortunately, I was not very impressed with the wines, nothing wrong with them - but nothing that blows me away.
I really like to visit Etoile again, because I'm really curious about the other dishes.
